The branch was officially formed on 23 Jan 2007, and held the first meeting on Thursday 1 February with 26 ex sappers turning up for the Inaugural meeting, since then the Branch has gone from strength to strength, having raised funds to acquire a Branch Standard which was dedicated in Ripon Cathedral on Sunday 20 May 07.
Branch members have taken part in various events including the Chatham Memorial week end, Veterans Day parade 08 (now renamed Armed Forces Day), they have also paraded the Standard at The Menin Gate in Belgium, and of course Remembrance Parades each November. Branch membership is strong with 43 subscription paid members, some having seen long service, and postings to all corners of the globe,
The name East Point Sappers speaks for its self.
Lowestoft being the most easterly point of the British Isles.
